Telugu film actresses SairaBanu and Jyoti and seven others were caught red-handed in a prostitution racketbusted by Hyderabad police here on Monday.
Saira, who played leadrole in few Telugu films, and Jyoti, a supporting actress in many films, werearrested along with a woman from Uzbekistan and their customers from anapartment in the upscale Kundan Bagh neighborhood.
The police havenot revealed the identity of the other arrested but sources have not ruled outinvolvement of some rich and famous in the racket. Kundan Bagh is ahigh-security area having houses of ministers, bureaucrats and other VIPs.
The Commissioner's Task Force raided the apartment in the earlyhours of on Monday on specific information.
This is not the firsttime that a Telugu film actress has been arrested for prostitution. In 2009,Seema was arrested during a raid in Hyderabad's Tarnaka area.
